Are you the next-gen Chevy Cruze?

2016 Chevy Cruze spy

Judging by these spy shots, the Chevrolet Cruze is getting ready for a makeover. What's more, it appears the Chevy brand may be in line for a new corporate face of sorts.

Assuming these shots are the real deal, the 2015 Chevy Cruze will sport a completely redesigned fascia that still wears two distinctly separate grilles and a big golden Bowtie, but doesn't look anything at all like the Cruze it replaces. Instead, the lower grille has been enlarged and given a more pronounced set of angles, while the upper grille is narrowed and pulled tight against the swoopier headlights. There's little doubt in our minds that this new Chevy look will be likened to the corporate face of arch-rival Ford.

Moving down the car's flanks, we see a well-defined shoulder and an arch in the bodywork over the rear wheels that mimics that of the latest Impala. At the rear, the new Cruze looks fairly plain, with the lone flourish being some brightwork that underlines and connects the taillight clusters. Inside, the upscale accommodations of the current Cruze are carried over in a slightly more modern way, with a large LCD screen dominating the center stack.

The next Cruze will ride on the latest version of GM's global compact platform, codenamed D2XX. We can't say for sure what will power the new Cruze here in the States, but we'd put our money on a continuation of the 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder. According to auto.sohu.com, the Chinese site these spy shots originate from, the 2015 Cruze will debut at the Beijing Motor Show in April.
